The Coolpad brand launches a new smartphone every once in a blue moon. After the company ended its partnership with LeEco, it continued in the smartphone market however it is only available in certain markets. It covers a few markets, including China and India. Today, the Chinese company has teased their upcoming smartphone called CoolPad Cool 20. From its name, we are expecting to be the successor of CoolPad Cool 10 which launched last year. For now, we have the launch date, design, and a few key specifications of the upcoming device. Let’s have a detailed look below.
A few posters were shared by Coolpad showing that the upcoming device will be called Cool 20 and it will be launched on May 25 in China. The promotional images also show us the device. From the rear side, you can see a huge Cool branding. A few brands have adopted this huge branding design. We saw it on POCO smartphones and a few Realme devices as well. I am not a big fan of the huge branding, but thanks to the back covers, we can hide the ugly branding. On a positive note, there seems to be a glass back on Cool 20. There is also a dual rear camera setup enclosed in a square module.
The camera module shows ArcSoft branding which hints that CoolPad is collaborating with ArcSoft for improving its camera. ArcSoft is a photo and video imaging software development company, it’s good to see that CoolPad is trying to improve their camera. Also, we are expecting the phone to be special in terms of audio quality. Although, I am skeptical about the camera setup. I hope the 48MP sensor used is good, and the other sensor is an ultra-wide lens. We are expecting this one to be a budget smartphone, just like the CoolPad Cool 10. Let’s have a look at its predecessor.
Coolpad Cool 10 Highlights
The CoolPad Cool 10 featured a 6.57-inch IPS LCD panel with an HD+ resolution. There is no high refresh on the Cool 10. For photography, the smartphone comes with a 16MP triple rear camera setup. On the front, there is an 8MP shooter. Helio P30 powers the smartphone together with a 5000mAH battery. From the specifications of Cool 10, it seems like Cool 20 will be a major improvement. I hope the display is having a 1080p resolution this time, and a punch-hole will be great.
