The tablet market witnessed a surge in sales since the last year and this might have turned Xiaomi’s focus back to the tablet market. Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus is the last tablet from the brand which was launched back in 2018. And then, the company didn’t bother to launch another tablet until this year. According to recent reports, Xiaomi is in the works to launch a new tablet that could be called “Xiaomi Mi Pad 5”.

Competing with Huawei MatePad 11
The Mi Pad 5 reportedly has the model number M21051182G which recently got certified by EEC authority, thereby hinting at an imminent launch. A fresh report from a Chinese publication reveals some key details of the upcoming tablet. As per the report, the Mi Pad 5 has a similar set of configurations as in Huawei MatePad 11. It means that the Mi Pad 5 could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 chipset. The tablet might launch in mid to late August 2021 for the Chinese market.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 is said to have an 11-inch LCD display with 2K resolution support. It may offer up to 144Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate to bring a fast touch experience. The tablet is expected to launch in more than one model. Like most of the high-end tablets, the Mi Pad 5 will support the Stylus feature.
The Mi Pad 5 is said to be a lightweight and thin tablet that will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. On the software front, the tablet will boot MIUI for Pad which supports handheld PC mode and the regular MIUI features. As per the report, the performance of the Mi Pad 5 and Huawei MatePad 11 are nearly the same. The MatePad 11 is all set to launch on July 6, while the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 may launch sometime in August 2021.
According to another Chinese source, Xiaomi will be launching MIUI 13 along with other devices like Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 and Xiaomi Mi CC11 during late or mid-August.
