Xiaomin’s Lei Jun has confirmed that MIUI 13 will arrive at the end of 2021, which means that MIUI 12.5 will still be the new version of the company’s Android-based mobile operating system. This MIUI version is suitable for Redmi Note 10, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A, and Redmi 7A.

Redmi Note 10 is the cheapest smartphone in the Redmi Note 10 series. Although it was launched in March, it has only now received the MIUI 12.5 update.

In fact, the update is currently only applicable to the “global” version of mobile phones with the internal version number V12.5.2.0.RKGMIXM. However, other regional variants should receive the same updates in the coming weeks.

On the other hand, the MIUI 12.5 update for Redmi 8, Redmi 8A and Redmi 7A is currently only available in China. The update of these devices comes with the internal version number V12.5.1.0.QCNCNXM, V12.5.1. 0.QCPCNXM or V12.5.1.0.QCMCNXM.

In the near future, updates should gradually cover other variants of these phones.Having said that, MIUI 12.5 may be the last major update of these three phones.

Because Xiaomi is known for offering two MIUI updates and one Android update for its entry-level smartphones, these phones have now reached this threshold.
