For the past few years, smartphone manufacturers have started moving into the smart TV market. Last October, OPPO was one of the industry’s behemoths to enter the idiot box segment. Despite the passage of more than a year, the company’s televisions remain exclusive to China. According to recent intelligence, this could alter soon.

According to 91Mobiles, OPPO TV will be available in India in the second quarter of 2022. Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings), a tech influencer, provided this information.
Unfortunately, the source does not offer anything about this television other than the approximate release date. As a result, it’s unclear whether the company will bring its current model or introduce something entirely new.
We believe that the latter is more likely than the former. Because practically all smartphone manufacturers manufacture their TVs in India. Because OPPO’s sibling companies OnePlus and realme do the same, it is likely that it will do the same.

In that situation, OPPO TVs sold in India will differ from those sold in China, much as Xiaomi televisions do. But, at the very least, Xiaomi has launched its self-developed content aggregation tool PatchWall outside of mainland China, with modifications tailored to Indian clients. We are unsure of OPPO’s situation.
Having said that, we can anticipate OPPO TV models running Android TV in India, as do the majority of smart televisions in the nation. Other features will have to wait until additional details emerge in the form of leaks, certifications, and teasers.
