Samsung Smartphones Might Leave Android Behind

Samsung may be preparing for a future where its smartphones will no longer run Android OS, according to a recent report. Instead, it will run a new operating system that has been in the works for a few years in Google’s labs. If you’ve been paying attention, you’re presumably aware that we’re discussing Fuchsia. Samsung was revealed to have contributed to the creation of Fuchsia earlier this year. According to a fresh claim, Samsung may have taken a step forward and chosen to abandon Android. The business will aim to make Fuchsia the company’s Android alternative, although that could take a few years. (Image courtesy of @dohyun854)

According to the folks at SamMobile, this won’t happen from one night to the next. According to the insider, Samsung will take a few years to embrace Google’s new open-source operating system. This is likely to happen with other businesses as well. According to previous claims, Fuchsia was set to become Google’s Android alternative. For the time being, it’s impossible to say whether Fuchsia OS will ship with One UI or another Samsung-developed overlay. Because Fuchsia is an open source operating system, the Korean company could easily put its skin and functionalities to it.

Samsung will not be the only manufacturer to adopt Fuchsia
The change isn’t purely coincidental. As previously stated, it’s all part of Google’s grand strategy to migrate to a new platform. Unlike Android, Fuchsia will utilize a new code named Zircon instead of the Linux kernel code. Fuchsia is being developed by Google to run on a wide range of smart devices, including wearables, smartphones, tablets, PCs, and the Internet of Things. As a test run, it was already used for the Nest hub.

As a result, as previously stated, Samsung may not be the only manufacturer abandoning Android. If Google can make Fucshia a viable alternative to Android, it will promote it via its Pixel smartphones, which will come preloaded with the new OS. As a result, we may see other businesses join the bandwagon. Moving to what Google has to offer, like Thanos, will be unavoidable.

Samsung may have an advantage over its competitors if it already has some knowledge about Fucshia’s progress. The Korean company will become accustomed with the new operating system early on, and this head start could be crucial for the company to maintain leadership in a new era without Android.

It’s intriguing to see Samsung sticking with Google rather than attempting to create its own operating system from the ground up. The company attempted to develop Tizen OS for its devices in the past, but it was a flop. In fact, companies that attempted to provide their own operating system had limited success.
