OnePlus 9 And 9 Pro Get New Update With January Security Patch

OnePlus has released a new software update for its latest flagships, the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, which were released last year (outside of China). In all global markets, the new software is referred to as C.44.

Because we’re still in January, this brings the January 2022 security patch level with it. It’s also the OnePlus update with the most extensive changelog we’ve ever seen. We won’t detail everything here, but trust us when we say there will be a slew of bug fixes and enhancements. If you want to see the whole thing in its entirety, click the Source link below.

“This new release resolves a handful of the ongoing concerns,” OnePlus notes in a blog post announcing the rollout, which implies it doesn’t fix all of them, but it’s still a step in the right way. Some of the items in the changelog only apply to models in the EU region, however the firm does not specify which ones.

In any case, expect longer battery life, a speedier fingerprint unlocking process, a better charging animation, less scrolling slowness in the Notification area, three customizable Dark mode levels, and a slew of other changes in Shelf. All users now have access to the Work Life Balance feature, which includes automatic mode switching and configurable app notification profiles. Improvements to the camera, 5G connectivity, Canvas AOD, and the Gallery app are also included.

The update will be rolled out over-the-air in stages, starting with a small percentage of devices today and progressing to a larger rollout in a few days assuming nothing goes horrifically wrong.
