Tecno fans are likely to have heard of the Tecno Pova Neo smartphone. For those who are unaware, the device was released last month in a few select nations as a low-cost option. It’s yet another product from Transsion Holding’s brand that aims to win over foreign clients. Now it’s making its way into Asian countries, including India, which is one of the region’s smartphone strongholds. The Indian variant does, however, have certain hardware modifications, though they are minor.

Specifications for the Tecno Pova Neo
The primary difference is that Tecno has added a Helio G25 SoC to the mix. The Helio P22 SoC was used in the previous version. If you ask me what makes these two different, I’d say it’s primarily incremental. Both processors use the same 12 nm manufacturing process and include an octa-core CPU with eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores running at 2 GHz. Furthermore, they share the same GPU, the PowerVR GE8320. The newer MediaTek Helio G22 SoC is marginally more efficient than the older MediaTek Helio G20 SoC.
Surprisingly, the new version now has MemFusion, a clever memory feature. The virtual RAM capability is simply referred to as “virtual RAM” by the firm. This feature, they claim, may effectively expand RAM from 6 GB to 11 GB. Of course, that will eat up some of your 128 GB of internal storage. The micro SD card port allows you to expand the internal memory to save files. It may be expanded up to 512 GB.
In India, the Tecno Pova Neo costs INR 12,999. This works out to about $175. For some customers, that may not be an appealing price, but smartphones are becoming more expensive, and we can claim that this is a regular price for low-end handsets. The handset will go on sale on January 22 in India’s select retail shops. The good news is that the phone comes with free Tecno Hipods H2 headphones, which would normally cost INR 1,499 ($20).
It’s worth noting that Tecno also unveiled the Pova 5G smartphone, which is the company’s first 5G-capable device. A MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage, a 6,000 mAh battery with 18W charging, and a main 50 MP camera are among the device’s superior features. The device will be revealed in India soon, and it has the potential to dominate the Tecno business in the country.
