Samsung Rolls Out eSIM Support To The U.S. Galaxy Z Fold 3 And Flip 3

eSIM is clearly growing in popularity. OEMs are likely to replace physical SIM cards with electronic SIM cards in the near future. But there’s still time because the majority of smartphones don’t support eSim, even when used in conjunction with a normal SIM. This was also true of Samsung’s latest foldables. However, Samsung is correcting this by adding eSIM and Dual SIM, Dual Standby (DSDS) capabilities to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the United States.

The June 2022 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 has begun to trickle out. The most recent security update is now available in numerous locations around the world, including the United States and Europe. For US variants of the foldables, the update adds eSIM compatibility, new camera features, and security patches.

In the United States, the update is available for the T-Mobile Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 devices with software versions F926USQU1DVEE and F711USQU2DVEE, respectively.

The unlocked models of the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 will also get eSIM capability. The releases for the unlocked models are named F926U1UEU1DVEE and F711U1UEU2DVEE.

The addition of eSIM support offers dual-SIM capabilities to the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Flip3, allowing customers to use one physical SIM and one eSIM at the same time via DSDS. As previously stated, the new updates offer a slew of camera enhancements to the Galaxy S22 series.

It’s worth noting that the upgrades are being rolled out in stages, so it could take a few days or a week for every unit to receive them.
