iPhone 6 Joins Apple’s List Of Outdated Devices

Apple has added the iPhone 6 to its list of “vintage” gadgets. It includes all mobile devices for which the firm will no longer provide any form of a software upgrade. almost 8 years following its debut.

After the iPhone 5 in 2018 and the iPhone 6 Plus at the beginning of 2022, it is now time for the original iPhone 6 to join Apple’s roster of purportedly old devices. With the introduction of the iPhone 6 line, Apple first introduced the larger “Plus” model of the iPhone. We received a new, curved edge design with the iPhone 5s in place of the flat corners of the iPhone 4. Which was yet another feature of the gadget.

Apple eventually revived its 2014-released product in 2017 as a mid-range iPhone, similar to the current iPhone SE 5G. Considering that it was available in the past, we anticipate that it will be added to the list of vintage gadgets.

The iPhone 6 is now listed as vintage by Apple

Because the iPhone 6 is now an outdated device, supplies will be an issue for repairs. Apple will still accept repairs up to 7 years after the product’s final release, but only if the required parts are still readily available.

In two years, the iPhone 6 will be in the list of ostensibly “obsolete” technology. All hardware services are suspended for them, with the exception of Mac computers, which can still benefit from a battery repair.

We should point you that Apple also released the fifth-generation iPod touch in addition to the iPhone 6. Likewise, the 2012 iPod nano 7 was moved from the vintage to the out-of-date product lists. The 2015 iPod nano units, however, are now considered vintage items. The listing for the 2012 model of the fourth-generation iPod shuffle has been replaced with the 2015 model. Earlier this year, Apple included the first MacBook Pro with Touch Bar to its list of obsolete goods. Although we do not yet know the exact moment, the iPhone 7 should be the next device to join the list somewhere in the first half of the following year.
