Microsoft Confirms That Windows 11 Slows Down Games

Microsoft has confirmed yet another issue with gaming performance in Windows 11 22H2. Several users have begun to complain about performance issues when playing games after installing the most recent operating system update. They have to deal with stuttering and other issues. Although it was initially assumed that the problem was caused by NVIDIA graphics cards, changing the drivers did not resolve the problem. Microsoft concluded by stating that certain games and applications “may experience slower than expected performance or freezes on Windows 11 22H2.”

The tech giant admits that they unintentionally enable GPU performance debugging. However, it does not provide specific examples of games or applications that may be affected by this issue. This function should not be used in consumer electronics. Microsoft has not explained why some games and applications on Windows 11 22H2 activate the debugging feature. Furthermore, we do not know how many applications are affected by this problem.

While looking for a solution, the company has stopped automatically updating impacted devices to Windows 11 22H2. Rather than installing the latest version of Windows 11 Pro, users must update their games and apps. In addition, you can “roll back” to a previous system version.

Gamers have previously reported issues with Microsoft’s new operating system. A year ago, owners of computers with AMD chips noticed a drop in performance. By the way, we are still looking for a solution to this problem.

A large portion of the Windows community has yet to adopt Microsoft’s most recent desktop operating system more than a year after its release. This is according to Statcounter statistics for October.

Only 15.44% of PCs worldwide are running Windows 11, up 1.83 percentage points in a month. In comparison, Windows 10 is used by 71.29 percent of users, a slight decrease from 71.88 percent in September. And Windows 7 came in third with 9.61 percent.

Windows 8.1 is ranked fourth with 2.45 percent, followed by Windows 8 with 0.69 percent. Windows XP is still in fourth place, with 0.39 percent of the market.

Windows controls 76 percent of the global market for desktop operating systems. Then came macOS X (15.7 percent) and Linux (2.6 percent).

Android accounted for 42.37 percent of the operating system market overall. Windows had a 30.11 percent share, iOS had a 17.6 percent share, and OS X had a 6.24 percent share. And Linux has a 1.04 percent market share.
