Google’s May Update Is Now Available for Pixel Phones and the Pixel Watch

Google has resumed its monthly Android update release schedule with the May update being released on time, on the first Monday of the month. The update is currently available for supported Pixel phones, including the Pixel Watch.

Unlike the quarterly “Feature Drop” updates, May’s release focuses solely on bug fixes. One of the most notable issues addressed is the occasional overlap of lock screen UI elements with the home screen launcher interface. This update also includes improvements to the touchscreen response under specific conditions on the Pixel 7 Pro.

The rollout of the update has already begun for Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, and later models, and will be progressively available on other devices in the coming week. The software version will be TQ2A.230505.002 on all supported handsets, except the Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, and Pixel 5a 5G on T-Mobile and MVNOs, which will receive TQ2A.230505.002.A1.

Furthermore, Pixel Watch users will also receive a May update that includes the latest security patches. The rollout is expected to take up to a week to complete, and users can expect to be on version RWDA.230114.013 after installing the update.
