Apple has reportedly increased Mini LED chip production and added other manufacturers to its supply chain to assist fulfill demand for its new Mini LED display orders. These new panels are expected to be used in the company’s upcoming lineup of devices, which will debut later this year.

The Cupertino-based behemoth has recently started employing Mini LED panels in several of its products. The Pro Display XDR, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and the top-of-the-line MacBook Pro are all included. Now, the business is slated to incorporate Mini LED in even more of its future goods, which will debut later in 2022. The new 11-inch iPad Pro, 27-inch iMac Pro, new and revamped MacBook Air, and perhaps another external display could be among the new items.

At the moment, Epistar, a Taiwanese company, is the iPhone maker’s primary source of Mini LED chips. Apple, on the other hand, has pushed to bring in more vendors as the number of devices that use this display technology grows. The information comes from industry individuals close to the situation, according to DigiTimes. According to reports, one of the new suppliers is China’s Sanan Optoelectronics, which is substantially cheaper than Apple’s present suppliers.

Following the success of its high-end MacBook Pro, Apple’s demand for Mini LED displays is “anticipated to dramatically expand in 2022,” according to the report. As a result, beginning in the second quarter of 2022, Epistar is expanding its production facilities in China in order to ramp up production. Sanan Optoelectronics, meanwhile, is slated to start shipping around the same time.
