Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 3 are Receiving Stable One UI 4 Update

Samsung is working hard to ensure that the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update reaches a growing number of smartphones. It is, in fact, one of the few Android OEMs eager to release Android 12 before the end of the year. Since October, the business has been conducting One UI 4.0 beta programs for a few of its flagship handsets, and the majority of them are now running the stable software. The stable One UI 4.0 update is now available for the two foldable devices announced in August, the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy Z Fold3.

According to user reports, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 SM-F711N and SM-F711B versions are getting the first stable build of One UI 4.0. F711NKSU2BUKM and F711BXXU2BUKM are the firmware versions, respectively. The “N” model is intended for Korea, whereas the global “B” variant’s upgrade is now available in Serbia.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 and Z Fold3 are the newest additions to the exclusive club of Android 12 smartphones.
Along with the Android 12-specific improvements, the stable version of One UI 4.0 for the foldable pair includes the Android security patches for December 2021, which were included in the third and final beta builds. It’s worth noting that the update has no effect on the version of the underlying bootloader. As a result, if you are dissatisfied with the upgrade, you can even revert to Android 11. Of course, this will necessitate some familiarity with Samsung device ROM flashing and downgrading methods.

It is not necessary to complete the process through the Samsung Members app once this update has been labeled as “Stable.” Instead, you’ll find the update in the Software Update area. For some users, it should appear automatically, but if it doesn’t, you can try manually heading to the sub-menu within the Settings app. The update adds a slew of new features to the two foldable phones. Refreshed graphics, new UI elements, and a wallpaper-based theming engine are all on the agenda. There are numerous security and privacy enhancements as well.

In August, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 with One UI 3.1.1, which is based on Android 11. They’re getting their first major upgrade right now. These devices are expected to receive more than two major Android updates and up to four years of security patches. As a result, Android 13 and Android 14 users can still expect upgrades. Of course, Samsung will be able to provide more in the future.
