WhatsApp’s developers are getting close to releasing conversation history transfer between Android and iOS devices. The source code for WhatsApp 22.2.74 beta for iOS disclosed this information.

You’ll be able to move your WhatsApp chat history between Android and iOS in the near future. However, it does not appear that the process will be simple. Both devices must have the app installed for the migration to take place, and the migration will most likely take place over a cable or a private Wi-Fi connection. Other messaging apps, on the other hand, employ Google Drive, iCloud, or their own cloud service to store and sync user data.
Owning a Samsung-made smartphone is now the only certified way to sync your WhatsApp data between an iOS and Android phone. The migration is only possible in one direction: from an iPhone to a Samsung via cable and Samsung’s SmartSwitch app.
