vivo has been busy growing its product line in India this month, launching five smartphones – the V23, V23 Pro, Y21T, Y33T, and Y21e – in the Asian country. But vivo isn’t done yet. In India, the company unveiled the vivo Y21A, the successor to the Y20A, which was announced in December 2020.
The vivo Y21A, on the other hand, isn’t a completely new smartphone. The Y21A shares its design and most of its features with the Y21e, just as the Y33T is a slightly different version of the Y21T.

For starts, the Snapdragon 680 SoC was used in the Y21e, while the Helio P22 processor was used in the Y21A. Furthermore, the smartphone runs Funtouch OS 11.1 based on Android 11 rather than Funtouch OS 12 and has greater RAM (4GB + 1GB virtual vs. 3GB + 0.5GB virtual).
The Y21e and Y21A also differ in that the former sports an 8MP selfie camera with an f/1.8 aperture, while the latter has an f/2.0 aperture.
The remainder of the specs are the same, including a 6.51″ HD+ LCD, dual camera on the back (13MP primary + 2MP macro), 64GB storage (expandable up to 1TB), side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm headphone socket, USB-C, and 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging.
The vivo Y21A is now available with the Helio P22 SoC and a 5,000mAh battery. The vivo Y21A is available in Midnight Blue and Diamond Glow hues and is already featured on vivo India’s official website, but no pricing or availability information has been released.
